With its access to public transit, I-85 & the skyrocketing real estate prices in Buckhead, is it possible that Chamblee is becoming a more affordable alternative for young professionals, families & business who want close proximity to the city?
Since 2010, Chamblee’s population has nearly tripled, growing from 9,892 to 27,500. With this boom in population has also come an increase in residential, commercial & retail development.
Several major projects are already underway, including a $44 million 98-townhome community on New Peachtree Road, a 45,000 sq. ft. Whole Foods at the old Oxford Chemical Corporation site & numerous mixed-use developments incorporating apartments, retail space & office space.
And, that’s not it… As an effort to encourage redevelopment in the area, the city has even been making changes to local ordinances such as reducing the required size & set back on residential infill lots & allowing brew pups, microbreweries & food trucks. I mean, who doesn’t love a good food truck?
