Is Chamblee the Next Buckhead?

Email Blast May 2016 - The Next Buckhead

With its access to public transit, I-85 & the skyrocketing real estate prices in Buckhead, is it possible that Chamblee is becoming a more affordable alternative for young professionals, families & business who want close proximity to the city?

Since 2010, Chamblee’s population has nearly tripled, growing from 9,892 to 27,500. With this boom in population has also come an increase in residential, commercial & retail development.

Several major projects are already underway, including a $44 million 98-townhome community on New Peachtree Road, a 45,000 sq. ft. Whole Foods at the old Oxford Chemical Corporation site & numerous mixed-use developments incorporating apartments, retail space & office space.

And, that’s not it… As an effort to encourage redevelopment in the area, the city has even been making changes to local ordinances such as reducing the required size & set back on residential infill lots & allowing brew pups, microbreweries & food trucks. I mean, who doesn’t love a good food truck?

Curious to see what else is in the works in Chamblee? We know you must be after reading all that so click here to see the most high profile projects currently under development in the area!

Congrats, JP!

Email Blast - May 2016 - JP McLaughlin Closing

Congrats to our client, JP, on purchasing his first home! We started our hunt in Ashford Park and Drew Valley in Brookhaven, but made our way over to Dunwoody as JP realized he was able to purchase a home with a larger yard, which was very important for his pup, Fenway!

We’re now thrilled to say that JP owns a beautiful home in a fantastic location in Dunwoody. His home sits on a large lot in a wonderful neighborhood close to Brook Run Park. We know Fenway is going to love that!

JP is also a huge Auburn fan and with a killer back patio, fully wired with a TV and surround sound, we know JP will have the perfect set-up for grilling out and enjoying Game Days!

We are so thankful JP’s mom, Kerry, referred JP to us. We are so glad we had the opportunity to help JP purchase his first home and we truly enjoyed sharing the experience with him and his family. JP, we hope you enjoy living there for years to come, congrats!

Sam Robb Brewfest Sold Out!

2016-Brewfest-Invitation

We’re proud to announce the 2016 Sam Robb Brewfest for CURE Childhood Cancer is sold out for the 3rd year in the row!

“Fighting till the last breath,” was Sam Robb’s mantra. Sam was an incredibly strong and inspiring person. He is deeply missed, but his memory and mantra live on through the Sam Robb Fund for CURE Childhood Cancer.

CURE holds a special place in our hearts. Kyle and Sam grew up together. In June 2007, Sam succumbed to cancer, and in Sam’s memory, the Sam Robb Fund for CURE Childhood Cancer was born.

We believe it’s critically important to contribute to the doctors who care for children with cancer. Throughout the year, The MacDonald Team sponsors events supporting CURE, and Kyle serves on the Young Professional leadership Council for the organization.

Each spring, we sponsor our largest event, the Brewfest at SweetWater, and thanks to your contributions, we have raised over $35,000 to date from the Brewfest alone! It’s simply incredible, and it would not be possible without you!

Proceeds from the Sam Robb Fund support Emory University, the cancer center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and CURE Childhood Cancer. Proceeds also support Open Arms, a program through which CURE provides meals to hospitalized childhood cancer patients and their families.

SOLD! Congrats, Kristin & Jason!

1215 Crabapple Lake Circle

Congrats to our amazing clients on selling their home in January! Kristin and Jason purchased their home in Roswell a few years ago, and they completely renovated the interior. From the updated gourmet kitchen to creating a custom stacked stone fireplace and expanding the back deck, they did an incredible job with the renovations.

We knew that their gorgeous home, perched right on the lake, would not last long on the market, and within 1 day, we were under contract! We’re also happy to say that Jason and Kristin earned a nice little return on their investment.

What a stunning home to sell and such a wonderful experience with such great clients. We cannot thank you enough for entrusting us to sell your home! Congrats!
